Suggest an improvement

Send an idea for a feature, question or checklist to the SeaReady team: what the form asks, what happens next and who reads it.

Updated 2026-10-11 · SeaReady’s own words. The app changes often — if a screen looks different from this page, tell us from Help → Suggest an improvement.

What it is for

"Suggest an improvement" opens the contact page in suggestion mode: "Tell us what would help on board." A feature you needed mid-inspection, a question we got wrong, a checklist that is missing — describe it and a mariner on the team reads it.

The form is the same one as "Contact us" on the website, with the words changed for suggestions. Your name, e-mail, ship and rank are filled in from your account and vessel profile when you are signed in.

Who can use it

Everyone, on every plan — you do not even need an account. The page is on the website, so it needs an internet connection.

Step by step

  1. Open the menu and tap "Suggest an improvement" under Help (it is also a card on the Help & FAQs page).
  2. Check "Your name" and "Your email" — the reply goes to that address. "Ship name" and "Your rank" are optional but help us understand your situation.
  3. Give it a short "Subject" (optional, for example "Add a CDI questionnaire section") and write the idea in "Your idea": the problem you hit and the feature or content you wish had been there.
  4. Tap "Send suggestion". You see "Suggestion received — thank you." and can tap "Send another suggestion".
  5. What happens next: the message is stored on the SeaReady server and e-mailed to the owner, a master mariner, who reads every one. If it is built, or a detail is needed, you get an e-mail at the address you gave.

Tips

  • One idea per message makes it easier to act on. Say which screen and which ship type it concerns.
  • For something that is broken rather than missing, use "Report a problem" inside the app instead: it sends the page, app version and screen size with it and works offline.

Limits and good to know

  • Needs internet — the page is on the website and has no offline queue. Write it down and send it in port if you have no signal.
  • Name up to 100 characters, subject up to 150, message up to 4,000. A message sent faster than a person could type is refused ("That was very quick") — just press Send again.
  • At most 20 messages an hour from one connection, and a whole ship often shares one satellite connection; if you see "Too many messages", try again later.

Use it in the app

The same page sits inside SeaReady under Help → Handbook and behind the “?” in the screen’s header, and it reads offline at sea.
