The Fleet tab

The six fleet tiles, the ship table and cards with the highest-risk ship first, what each column means, stale ships, Refresh, Print and Sign out.

What it is for

The Fleet tab is the main screen of the office dashboard. At the top it shows the company name, "Shore office · N ships on licence" and a coloured licence line. Below that are six fleet tiles and then one row (on a computer) or one card (on a phone) per ship, highest risk first.

Every number comes from the ships themselves: each linked ship sends a short readiness summary whenever someone aboard opens SeaReady online. The office sees numbers and dates only.

Who can use it

Anyone signed in with the company licence key. Every ship on the licence is listed, including ships that have not linked yet.

Step by step

  1. After signing in, the "Fleet" tab is already selected. The other tab is "FAQs".
  2. Read the six tiles: "Ships reporting" (how many ships have sent a summary, out of all ships on the licence, plus "· N stale" if any), "Average readiness" (the average score of the reporting ships), "Critical items open", "Inspections ≤30 d", "Certs expired / ≤30 d" and "Rest breaches (7 d)". Tiles turn red or amber when something needs attention.
  3. Scan the list. The table columns are "Ship (highest risk first)", "Readiness", "Critical", "Next inspection", "Certificates", "Rest / findings" and "Last update". On a phone each card shows the same facts under "Readiness", "Critical", "Next inspection", "Certificates", "Rest / findings" and "Last update".
  4. Tap "Refresh" to fetch the latest summaries, "Print" to print the page (the printout is headed with the company name, "fleet readiness" and today’s date) and "Sign out" to end the session.

Tips

  • The risk order is a simple sum, so the ship at the top is the one to call first. Each ship gets points for: a low readiness score (half of the gap to 100 %), 8 per open critical item, 10 per expired certificate, 4 per certificate expiring within 30 days, 3 per rest-hour breach day in the last 7 days, 15 if the next inspection is within 14 days, and 10 if the ship is stale. A linked ship with no summary yet sits in the middle; ships not linked yet go to the bottom.
  • Readiness is green from 75 %, amber from 50 % and red below that. Under the score you see how many questions have been assessed out of those that apply.
  • "Critical" shows "N critical" in red or "none" in green, and "N not ready" under it. "Next inspection" shows the type, the date and the days left; within 14 days it turns red. "Certificates" shows "N expired", "N ≤30 d", "N within 90 d" or "all clear". "Rest / findings" shows breach days in the last 7 days and the number of open findings.
  • "Last update" shows how long ago the ship reported and who sent it (name and rank). A ship that has not reported for 7 days or more gets an amber "stale" pill and is left out of the six fleet totals until it reports again. Stale usually means nobody aboard has had SeaReady open with internet, for example a VSAT outage.
  • Day counts are worked out again from the stored dates every time the page draws, so a certificate that expired since the last report already shows as expired.
  • The licence line under the company name reads, for example, "Licence active · paid to <date>", "Licence cancelled · ends <date>", "Licence lapsed · ended <date>", "Licence active · until <date>", "Licence active · no end date" or "Licence not active yet".

Limits and good to know

  • If no ship has linked yet, the list is replaced by "No ships on your licence yet" with a reminder that each ship appears once its Master enters the ship link code.
  • Checklist answers, notes, photos and anyone’s rest-hour records are never shown here, only counts and dates.
  • A ship reports only when someone aboard is online with SeaReady open; the dashboard cannot ask a ship for data.
  • The dashboard needs internet and works in a browser on a computer or a phone.

Use it in the app

The same page sits inside SeaReady under Help → Handbook and behind the “?” in the screen’s header, and it reads offline at sea.
