What the office sees, how ships report
Numbers and dates only, never answers or personal records; how a ship reports through the server; the money-back line; Contact us and Report a problem.

What it is for
This page explains the small print at the bottom of the Fleet tab: what the company office can and cannot see, how a ship’s numbers reach the office, the money-back line, and the two ways to reach SeaReady from the dashboard.
The rule is simple. Ships share numbers and dates only: the readiness score, open items, certificate expiry dates, rest-hour breach counts, the next inspection and who is aboard (names and ranks). Checklist answers, notes, photos and personal records stay aboard.
Who can use it
Anyone signed in with the company licence key; useful too for a Master who wants to know what his office sees.
Step by step
- Scroll to the bottom of the "Fleet" tab. The grey paragraph starts "Ships share numbers and dates only".
- Read what is never shared: checklist answers, notes, photos and personal records such as anyone’s rest-hour entries or training progress. On a ship licence those go to the Master only; crew never see each other’s.
- Read how ships report: the crew’s phones sync through the SeaReady server over the ship’s Wi-Fi whenever it has internet (VSAT or Starlink) and in port. With no internet, changes are held on the phones until the connection returns, so a ship with its VSAT down shows as not reporting until then.
- Need more ships on the licence or a lost key replaced? Tap "Contact us" in that paragraph; it opens the contact page on the website.
- Something not working? Tap "Something not working? Report a problem or send us a message" just below the paragraph. The box is pre-filled with the company contact e-mail; your message goes straight to SeaReady.
Tips
- The paragraph also reminds you that a ship marked "stale" has not reported for 7 or more days and is left out of the fleet totals, and that day counts are worked out from the stored dates each time you open the page.
- Every licence comes with SeaReady’s 30-day money-back guarantee on the first payment; the paragraph says so. A refund of a ship licence is asked for by the Master from the app.
- Under the report box a line reads "Signed in with licence key ending …". SeaReady stores only a fingerprint of the key, so keep the full key safe.
Limits and good to know
- The office cannot open a checklist, read a note, see a photo or look at any person’s rest hours; there is no setting that switches this on.
- A ship only reports when someone aboard is online with SeaReady open. The dashboard cannot pull data from a phone that is offline.
- Phones never sync with each other over a ship network that has no internet; everything goes through the server.

The same page sits inside SeaReady under Help → Handbook and behind the “?” in the screen’s header, and it reads offline at sea.
