Menus and shortcuts

The side menu on a computer, the menu button on a phone, the More page, collapsible groups, My shortcuts and the header icons.

What it is for

SeaReady has one menu, shown three ways: a sidebar on a computer, a slide-out drawer behind the menu button on a phone, and the "More" page. All three show the same groups in the same order, and you can arrange them to suit you.

The groups are: Inspection prep, Ship & crew, Learn, My life, Tools & news, Help and Account. Above them sit the Dashboard and your ship’s inspection module, and, if you have pinned any pages, "My shortcuts".

Who can use it

Everyone, on every plan. The arrangement is yours: it is saved on the phone, goes into your backups and follows you to your other device when sync between your devices is on (trial and paid plans).

Step by step

  1. On a phone, use the five tabs along the bottom: "Dashboard", your inspection module (for example "SIRE Prep" or "RightShip"), "Tools", "Vault" and "More". For everything else tap the menu button (three lines) at the top left.
  2. In the drawer, type in "Find a page…" to filter the pages, or scroll the groups. Tap a page to open it; the drawer closes by itself. Tap the X ("Close menu") to leave it.
  3. Tap a group heading to collapse it — the heading then shows how many pages it holds in brackets — and tap again to open it. The same works in the computer sidebar, and the app remembers which groups you closed.
  4. On a computer the sidebar shows as many groups as fit the window; the rest sit under a "More" button with a count. At the bottom are "Install", your ship’s name and IMO, the ship’s time chip, "Works offline", and the "Settings", "Plans" and "Website" buttons.
  5. Tap "Arrange menu" (bottom of the drawer, bottom of the sidebar, or top right of the More page). Use the up and down arrows to move a group. Tap a group to open it, then tap the star next to a page to add it to "My shortcuts" at the top of the menu; tap the star again to remove it.
  6. In "My shortcuts" use the arrows to reorder and the X to remove a page. "Reset to default" puts everything back and clears the shortcuts. Tap "Done" to close.

Tips

  • The header on a phone also carries small buttons: the ship’s time chip, "Install", the magnifier (search), the inbox with the number of unread messages, the Settings cog, and a cloud icon that shows whether your devices are in sync. When the AI cannot be reached it shows "AI offline" or "AI busy" instead of the cloud.
  • "Back to website" at the bottom of the Account group opens the public SeaReady website and guides; the "Website" button in the sidebar does the same.

Limits and good to know

  • "My shortcuts" holds up to 8 pages. The app tells you when it is full.
  • The Dashboard and your inspection module always stay on top and cannot be moved or pinned.
  • The menu works offline. Syncing your arrangement to another device needs a connection and a trial or paid plan.

Use it in the app

The same page sits inside SeaReady under Help → Handbook and behind the “?” in the screen’s header, and it reads offline at sea.
