Search

Find any page, checklist question, zone or photo position in seconds with the search box, from the keyboard or the magnifier button.

What it is for

Search finds any page in the app and jumps straight to a checklist question, a zone of the zone walk, a PSC or CIC item or a photo position. It is the fastest way to get from "the inspector asked about 5.3" to that question.

Who can use it

Everyone, on every plan.

Step by step

  1. Open search: press Ctrl+K on Windows or Cmd+K on a Mac, tap the magnifier button in the phone header, tap "Search" at the top of the computer sidebar, or type something in the phone menu and tap "Search questions, zones and checklists too".
  2. Type a few letters, a page name or a question number — the box says "Search questions, zones, checklists, pages…". Results appear in groups: "Go to" (pages), "SIRE 2.0 questions" with the chapter, "Zones", "RightShip RISQ", "OVID", "BIQ5 barge", "PSC & CIC" and "Photo positions".
  3. Tap a result (or move with the arrow keys and press Enter). The app opens the page and, for a question, scrolls to it.
  4. If nothing matches you see "Nothing matches — try a question number (e.g. 5.3), a zone, or a page name."

Tips

  • The question list shown depends on your ship type, so a tanker sees its SIRE 2.0 questions and a bulk carrier its RightShip ones.
  • Press Ctrl+K or Cmd+K again to close the box.

Limits and good to know

  • Pages are always searchable offline. The big question list is downloaded the first time you open search; if the phone has never had it and you are offline the box says "Pages only — the question list could not load. Connect once to download it." After that one download it works at sea.
  • The "Find a page…" box inside the phone menu finds pages only; use the full search for questions and zones.

Use it in the app

The same page sits inside SeaReady under Help → Handbook and behind the “?” in the screen’s header, and it reads offline at sea.
