Getting started

Create your free account, confirm your e-mail with the 6-digit code, install SeaReady on your phone and finish the one-minute setup.

What it is for

SeaReady is a web app: you open it at seaready.net and add it to your phone like any other app. The first time, you create a free account with your e-mail address, confirm that address with a 6-digit code, and answer a few setup questions about your ship and rank. After that the app opens straight on your dashboard, with or without a signal. No card is asked for: confirming your e-mail starts a 14-day free trial of the AI features, and everything that does not use AI is free for ever.

Who can use it

Everyone, of every rank. Each person uses their own account — there are no shared ship logins. The account itself is free; the 14-day trial after confirming your e-mail runs at Officer Pro limits.

Step by step

  1. Open seaready.net/register ("Create your free account"). Fill in "Name", "Email", "Phone" (optional) and a "Password" of at least 8 characters, tick the box agreeing to the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service, then tap "Create my free account".
  2. On "Confirm your e-mail", type the 6-digit code we sent to your address and tap "Confirm". The code works for 15 minutes. No code? Check your spam folder, tap "Send the code again", or tap "Wrong address?" and then "Use this address and send a new code". "Do this later" skips this step — only the AI waits for the code.
  3. Install SeaReady on your phone so it has its own icon. iPhone: in Safari tap the Share button, then "Add to Home Screen", then "Add". Android: open the Chrome menu and tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app". Computer: tap the install icon in the address bar or the menu item "Install SeaReady…". Inside the app the "Install" button in the header does the same. There is no app-store download; the app updates itself.
  4. On "Welcome aboard SeaReady", type your ship’s name (IMO number and flag are optional) and tap "Next". Choose your "Ship type?" — the app shows which inspection regime applies — then "Your rank?", then "Next inspection (optional)" with the inspection type and expected date, tapping "Next" each time.
  5. On "Connect to your ship's account" choose "I'm the Master" to set the ship up, "I have a join code" if your Master gave you an 8-character code, or tap "Just me for now — open my dashboard". This step needs a connection and can be done later in Settings → Ship.
  6. Coming back later: open seaready.net/login ("Welcome back aboard"), type your "Email" and "Password" and tap "Sign in".
  7. Already signed in on 2 phones? The sign-in page shows "You're signed in on 2 phones already — choose one to sign out". Tap the phone you no longer use, then "Sign out that phone and continue". A phone not used for 30 days or more is signed out automatically to make room.

Tips

  • New or replacement phone? On the welcome screen tap "Restore from backup" and choose the .zip backup you exported from the old phone. On a trial or paid plan the app also looks for your data on your other device first ("Bringing your data from your other device…") and skips setup if it finds it.
  • Your rank only changes what the app shows first (dashboard order, zone walk, mock interview, defence pack). It never locks you out of anything.
  • The IMO number is checked against its check digit as you type — compare it with the Certificate of Registry if the app says it fails.

Limits and good to know

  • One free trial per phone and per e-mail address, ever. A second account made on the same phone starts on the free plan, and the app tells you so.
  • Every new ship also gets one 14-day ship trial when its Master adds it; one IMO number gets one ship trial, ever.
  • When the trial ends nothing is deleted: AI switches off and you move to the free plan. Buying any plan switches everything back on with your answers still there.
  • Your password is stored only as a hash — SeaReady never sees it. Your name, e-mail and phone number are stored to run your account.
  • Setup and sign-in need a connection the first time. Once signed in and set up, the app opens offline.

Use it in the app

The same page sits inside SeaReady under Help → Handbook and behind the “?” in the screen’s header, and it reads offline at sea.
