Flashcards
SIRE 2.0 and RightShip questions as flashcards with spaced repetition, so the cards you know come back less often and the hard ones sooner.

What it is for
Flashcards turn SeaReady’s SIRE 2.0 and RightShip question banks into study cards, in SeaReady’s own wording. The front of a SIRE 2.0 card gives the question number and title and asks "What does the inspector expect to see?"; the back is what good looks like, with a red "Negative if:" line for what the inspector marks as negative. RightShip cards show the question title on the front and the guidance on the back.
The deck uses spaced repetition with five boxes. A card you grade "Good" moves up one box and comes back later (box 1 tomorrow, then 3, 7, 14 and 30 days); "Easy" moves it up two boxes; "Hard" keeps it in its box; "Again" sends it back to box 1 and shows it again today. So the cards you know come back less often and the ones you found hard keep coming back.
Who can use it
Everyone, on every plan including Free. Progress is personal and kept on this device.
Step by step
- Open "Flashcards" from the Learn group of the menu.
- Under "Deck", choose "All", "SIRE 2.0" or "RightShip". The pills show how many cards are due today, learned (box 3 or higher) and seen.
- Read the front of the card (the chapter or section is shown above it, with "New" or "Box n/5"), then tap "Show answer".
- Grade yourself: "Again", "Hard", "Good" or "Easy". The next card appears at once.
- When the card says "All done for today", come back tomorrow — the cards you found hard will be waiting.
- To start over, tap "Reset progress" at the bottom and confirm.
Tips
- A session gives you every card that is due plus up to 10 new cards, due cards first. Ten minutes a day beats one long session.
- Be honest with "Again" — it costs nothing and the card comes back until it sticks.
Limits and good to know
- Progress is kept on this device only (it is included in your device backup, but is not synced to your other phone and is not part of the ship file).
- The number of cards reviewed each day is written to your personal training log; on a ship licence that count goes to the Master only.
- Works fully offline. Original SeaReady wording, not OCIMF or RightShip text.
