Inspection report
Print or save a photo-backed report of your preparation state for the whole ship, one zone or one chapter, with a readiness score and sign-off lines.

What it is for
The "Inspection Report" turns your checklist answers into a document for the bridge file, the Master or the office: vessel details, the readiness score, counts of ready, needs work, not ready and critical items, then every finding grouped by chapter with its note and the evidence photos. It prints or saves as a PDF straight from the browser.
You can report on the whole preparation, one zone or one SIRE chapter, and show only the open findings or the full record.
Who can use it
Everyone on every plan can view the report. On the Free plan you print the summary without photos, counted against your 3 main prints a month and watermarked; the full report with photos is on paid plans, the trial and ship licences.
Step by step
- Open "Inspection report" from the menu, or tap "Report" on the SIRE page or the zone walk ("Zone report" on a zone page comes already scoped to that zone).
- Pick the scope in the drop-down: "Scope: full … prep", a zone, or a SIRE chapter.
- Tankers: choose the phase ("All checks", "Contract start", "Weekly/Monthly", "11th hour") to match the report to the stage you are at.
- Leave "Findings only" ticked to list just the items marked "Needs work", "Not ready" or critical; untick it for everything you have assessed.
- Tap "Print / Save PDF" (paid plans), or on the Free plan "Print summary". Choose Save as PDF in the phone’s print screen to keep a file.
- Sign the three lines at the bottom: Master, the preparing rank and the date.
Tips
- The readiness score counts a "Ready" answer in full and a "Needs work" answer as 0.6, over the applicable questions ("N/A" is left out). Unanswered questions pull the score down.
- Voice notes are not printed; the report says how many are attached and they stay playable in the app.
- Printing also stamps your backup reminder, so a fresh report is a good moment to export a backup from Settings.
What the inspector looks for
- Keep a signed copy of the full report in the bridge file. It shows the inspector the ship inspects itself, and the dates on it show the preparation was not done the night before.
Limits and good to know
- Free plan: "Print summary" uses one of the 3 main prints a month (plus up to 3 bonus prints earned by finishing a checklist chapter or a mock-inspector or orals session) and carries a "Made with SeaReady (free)" watermark; the button shows how many prints are left. "Full report with photos" is locked and opens the plans pop-up.
- On the Free plan the printed summary lists how many questions are locked ("Free plan: N questions locked") because only the first 2 per chapter can be answered.
- The browser’s own Print (Ctrl/Cmd+P or the menu) follows the same rules: it is counted on a counted page and prints a notice instead of the page when nothing is left.
- Prints are counted on the SeaReady server when you are signed in, so clearing the phone does not reset the count; offline, a small local allowance is used and reported when the connection returns.
