Ship/shore safety checklist
Prepare for the ship/shore safety checklist part by part before the terminal arrives, with remarks per part and a print-out.

What it is for
The "Ship/shore safety checklist" page helps a tanker prepare for the checklist agreed with the terminal before cargo or bunkers are transferred. It follows the parts of the ISGOTT ship/shore safety checklist, with each check written in SeaReady’s own short words, so the officer can walk the ship and tick what is ready before the loading master arrives.
It is a preparation aid. The official checklist agreed with the terminal is the document that both sides complete and sign; this page helps you arrive at that meeting with nothing missing.
Who can use it
Everyone, on every plan including Free. Used on tankers by the Chief Officer or the officer preparing for arrival. Shared through the ship file on Officer Pro or a ship licence; on Free and Crew it stays on your phone.
Step by step
- Open "Ship/shore safety checklist" from the Tools page and fill in "Terminal / berth" and the "Date".
- Work through the parts in order. Each card shows who it belongs to ("Tanker", "Terminal" or "Tanker and terminal") and when it applies: Parts 1A, 1B and 2 before arrival, Parts 3 and 4 after mooring, Parts 5A to 5D and 6 before transfer (the pre-transfer conversation, cargo-specific checks and the agreements), Part 7A during transfer and Part 7B the repetitive checks at the agreed interval.
- Tick each item that is ready. The pill on every card counts the ticks and the pill at the top shows the total, for example "47/47 ready".
- Type anything the terminal needs to know in "Remarks for this part (optional)" under each card, and put agreements, contacts and the repetitive check interval in "Notes (agreements, contacts, repetitive check interval)".
- Tap "Print" for a copy to carry to the meeting. If you are bunkering, use the "bunkering checklist" link on the page as well.
- At the next port tap "Reset" and confirm "Clear all ticks and remarks for the next port?" to start clean.
Tips
- Tick only what you have seen with your own eyes. The page is a walk-round list, not a declaration.
- Agree the repetitive check interval (Part 7B) early and write it in the notes, so the deck watch knows when to walk the manifold again.
- Keep the parts that belong to the terminal in view: if their items are not ready, raise it in the pre-transfer conversation.
Limits and good to know
- Saved on your phone; works with no signal. On Officer Pro or a ship licence it is part of the ship file: the ship’s phones sync through the SeaReady server over the ship’s Wi-Fi whenever it has internet (VSAT/Starlink) and in port; with no internet, changes are held on the phone until the connection returns. On Free and Crew it stays on your own phone.
- Printing: unlimited on paid plans, the trial and a ship licence. On the free plan this counts as one of the 3 main prints a month (plus up to 3 earned bonus prints), is watermarked "Made with SeaReady (free)", and the button shows how many are left; signed out, 1 a month on this phone.
- One checklist at a time: "Reset" clears the ticks, remarks, terminal, date and notes for the next port. There is no history of earlier ports.
- This is not the official ship/shore safety checklist and does not replace it. The one you sign with the terminal is the record.
