What it is for
The "Permit-to-Work & Near-Miss Printables" page gives you four clean paper templates for the bridge printer: "Enclosed Space Entry Permit", "Hot Work Permit", "Working Aloft / Overside Permit" and "Near-Miss Report". Each is a one-page form with boxes to fill in by hand, a list of precautions to tick on paper and signature lines, with your ship’s name and IMO number printed on top.
Use them where the ship has no printed stock of its own forms, or keep one as the master copy to photocopy. They are generic templates in SeaReady’s own words; the footer on every page says that your company procedures prevail where they are stricter.
Who can use it
Everyone, on every plan including Free. The ship name and IMO number come from the vessel details in Settings.
Step by step
- Open "Printable checklists" from the Tools page.
- Tap the template you want: "Enclosed Space Entry Permit", "Hot Work Permit", "Working Aloft / Overside Permit" or "Near-Miss Report". The page shows it below exactly as it will print.
- Check the header: it shows the ship name and, if you entered it, the IMO number. Change them in Settings if they are wrong.
- Tap "Print". On a phone the share sheet lets you save a PDF or send it to a printer; on a computer the print window opens.
- Fill the printed form in by hand, sign it and file it as your SMS requires.
Tips
- Print a few blank enclosed-space and hot-work permits before a long passage, so the paper is there when the printer is not.
- For a permit you fill in and sign on the phone instead of on paper, use the "Permits, RA & toolbox talks" tool.
- The near-miss report says it in its own footer: no-blame reporting exists to fix the system, not the person. Forward it to the DPA as your SMS says.
Limits and good to know
- Printing: unlimited on paid plans, the trial and a ship licence. On the free plan this counts as one of the 3 main prints a month (plus up to 3 earned bonus prints), is watermarked "Made with SeaReady (free)", and the button shows how many are left; signed out, 1 a month on this phone.
- The browser’s own print command follows the same rule: on the free plan it counts a print, or prints a notice when none are left this month.
- The precautions and figures on the templates are fixed and generic. Where your company SMS forms or limits differ, use the company form.
- Nothing you print is saved in the app; the templates are blank every time.
